The Friends of Everton Park benefited from a donation of materials for its nature garden. Oak timber beams recovered in the demolition works were recycled and donated for ongoing work regenerating Everton Park.
Dr Simon Abrams, Friends of Everton Park, said: “We don’t have big funds and rely largely on volunteers, so every little bit helps and this is a great boost to us.
“We are trying to maintain and improve Everton Park and open it more often for the use of local school children and the general public. We will use these fabulous beams to produce an outstanding and innovative piece that is both useful and beautiful in the Nature Garden.
"We hope to continue to work closely with St. Modwen to make the best possible connection between the Great Homer Street scheme and the refurbished Park. Both will benefit the area immensely.”
